May 15, 2008 Her killer still at large, today was dark for those who remember Sandra Mendonca Galas, the vibrant 27-year-old mother of two young boys who was taken before her time. Police are still seeking tips to piece together what happened leading up to her Jan. 25, 2006 death. Her parents are offering a $10,000 reward for information that could lead to a conviction in connection with her murder. Keeping her memory alive, Mendonca's father partnered with the YWCA for the first "Never forget Sandy G. Golf Tournament," May 4, at the Po'ipu Grand Hyatt Golf Course, former home of the PGA Grand Slam. Funds raised will go toward putting an end to domestic violence. Anyone with information surrounding Mendonca's murder is asked to call the Kauai Police Department, 241-1711.
